When I was growing up, and still to this day, my parent's church has a Missions Sunday once a month. Every other year they also have a Missions Conference which includes a festival.

Lots of opportunities for children and their parents to get involved with Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge. Participate in National BGMC Day second Sunday in March (March Missions Madness) or any other month of the year. BGMC has a really neat fundraiser event going on called "Up in The Air for Kids" in which the children's pastor or a pastor in the church does a "solo" by going "up" on a billboard or scissor lift for 3-7 days to raise awareness and financial support for BGMC. Goal is to raise $1,000,000 nationwide for missionaries here and around the world. The idea of Missions Sunday is great!
